Remember the time when we all needed to come up with a costume for Halloween and make it ourselves. Those were the homemade costumes you needed to put together yourself, and sure the costumes were not that elegant or expensive and smart but they were more funny, creative and scary. Your whole budget was actually your own closet. If you are still longing for those times, here are some ideas.

The best one ever is the homemade costume of Jelly Beans, seriously people have won awards on this costume and it is fairly easy to make. You need to find a big plastic bag, some colored balloons, a ribbon, and some tights and a black shirt.

You make little holes in the bottom of the bag for your feet, put your legs through and start placing the balloons in. Make sure that you can extend your arms out. You might need some help when finishing the filling and when done let your friend tie the bag with a ribbon. And viola, you got yourself a homemade costume of Jelly Beans.

The next is the old time favorite, a witch costume. It might not be like the original but be sure that it will be unique and creative. All you need are some old black clothes and some black material to make a witch hat. To make a hat, you can find some old one, cover it with black material, and make a spike for a pointy hat. That is easy to do, just place the material on the edges and sew it on the top making a small spike. Don’t forget the broom off course, the older it looks the better. If you have a black cat, or your neighbor has one, take him along.

If you have some old, washed out jeans, you can go as a farmer, get some old white t-shirt, and if you have some of the gardening tools, like a shovel that would be great.
